MOVIE REVIEW

The movie Accepted is another college comedy. You HAVE to watch it!! It’s amazing and extremely funny. It’s not a very old movie; I watched it about two years ago for the first time when it just came out in the cinema. Basically it is about a group of lovable losers who set up the perfect college so their parents think they got accepted to a real school. Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long) is angry that he didn’t get in a university just like the other rich and pretty frat boys so he starts his own school, funded with the money his parents are giving him to pay for tuition. He names it, the South Harmon Institute of Technology which officially makes the school S.H.I.T. His friends want to be part of his school as well and they call themselves Shitheads (because of the schools name!). They rent a wrecked, abandoned building next to the real Harmon College and patch it up so that it looks like a real university when parents come to see it and then hires his best friend Shermon’s Uncle (Lewis Black) as his stand-in Dean. It’s a pretty predictable movie really. The frat boys next door get jealous of the exciting new school and go to “war” with the S.H.I.T. Bartleby lusts after the head frat boy’s hot girlfriend and eventually the police find out the school is illegal and they take the case to court. Of course in the end they win the “battle” and they get to keep going to college. The movie is in English.

Look who's back in town! Research has shown that these animals are a new species, similar to squirrels but have entirely different DNA and they choose to live in different backrounds too. They are not at all dangerous but they can get a little sensitive when you comment on their style. it has been reported that these animals have been seen before, but people just assumed that someone had dressed them up and let them loose. Ofcourse they didn't see them when they had the nose piercings, as you can see in the photo, so they didn't call the police; now that they have changed their appearance though it is clear that something is not right. The animals have been taken to a Chemistry Lab to find out about what is going on. Is this a true fact? Or is it just a silly prank?

AGREE OR DISAGREE

- A life lived with fear is a life half lived.
Agree: Because if you live your life in fear you miss out on so many little and big things that actually make your life exciting and worth living. Take a risk once in a while; nothing extreme to get you into deep trouble but sometimes a little trouble is good. It’s one of life’s ingredients and so is facing your fears. I think that if you live life in fear and you have no experiences, than you never get the chance to learn from your mistakes.

- Ignorance is bliss.
Agree: I agree that ignorance is bliss because you need to have experience in your life and knowing all things is not always the best choice you have; especially in unpleasant situations. Sometimes its good to learn about things rather than just knowing them because then you develop more thoughts in your mind and create your own opinion.

- Its better to take chances and lose than to never take a chance.
Agree: I agree because taking chances is all about living this life! When you take chances in your life even if you lose it makes you stronger and it helps you mature faster. Everything in life is about taking chances and seeing where you’re good at and where you’re not. If you take a chance and lose well you learn how to accept things and some people actually make goals out of this and succeed next time they take a chance. There’s also the possibility of you gaining something and that’s a benefit.

Dialogue

This is a scene in Adhisaya Piravi (1990). There are three main characters in this short video. The man in the black shirt and light blue jeans is called Kekoa; the other man with the dark jacket and jeans is called Ali-Bali, and the third character is the little boy, Kekoa’s son, is called Little Azue. Kekoa and his son are known to be the greatest fighters possibly in the whole country but Ali-Bali decides to challenge Kekoa in a fight.

(Music in background)
Ali-Bali: Hey! Who does this guy think he is?! He thinks he’s so tough? Well why doesn’t he try fighting me!!

Ali-Bali leaves from behind the gate and goes to face his challenge. Kekoa is standing on something so he’s taller than Ali-Bali. Unfortunately for him Kekoa uses his special technique and sends Ali-Bali flying over to the other side of where he’s standing and little Azue trips him. Ali-Bali falls down but quickly picks up Azue.(Little Azue laughs at his accomplishment.)

Ali-Bali: What?
(He turns to see Little Azue at his side)
Ali-Bali: do you think that’s funny little boy? Now I’m mad… You’re coming with me!
Little Azue: Ahhh put me down! Put me down right now! Don’t make me hurt you!! Father help, help!

Meanwhile when Ali-Bali’s brother (man in brown jacket) sees him getting thrown over by Kekoa he rushes to support his brother. Kekoa fights him as well; he throws him on the floor, kicks him in the stomach, defeats him, and then he moves on to save his son. (People cheer).

(Little Azue is up on a tree with Ali-Bali)
Little Azue: Help me father! Please get me down already!
Kekoa: Okay Ali-Bali I’m giving you one chance to put my son down. If you don’t than you will have to face me again and this time I will show no mercy.
(Ali-Bali quickly responses)
Ali-Bali: I will not bring the boy down until you tell everyone that I have defeated you today. If you do that then I will leave in peace and you get your son back; if not than the boy gets it.
Kekoa: Yeah sure that’s exactly what I’m going to do…

Just then Kekoa kicks a large barrel and hits Ali-Bali on the stomach and little Azue falls from the tree. Kekoa catches him and puts him down, then turns to Ali-Bali.

Kekoa: Now as for you…
Ali-Bali: You’ll never catch me!!
Kekoa turns to his son and puts another barrel to his feet.
Kekoa: Go ahead son.

Little Azue kicks the barrel with enthusiasm and hits Ali-Bali right in the stomach. Ali-Bali falls down flat on his back. Kekoa walks towards him and lifts his foot to kick Ali-Bali’s knee.

Ali-Bali: No please don’t!
Then he steps on his arm.
Little Azue: Way to go father! Show no mercy to this fool!!
Ali-Bali: No wait…!
Kekoa then punches his nose.

Ali-Bali is in the hospital his arm and hand in casts.
Ali-Bali: Oh there’s pain in my arm… there’s pain in my leg… I will never fight again in my life! And all of this for the reputation of being strong!!

Ms. Dora was very excited about her vacation that was coming up in just a week after the school year ended for summer. Finally Friday the 13th of June came, and another school year was finished. She said goodbye to all her fellow teachers and students knowing that by the end of the summer she would miss them but right now she was eager to get home and relax. For three months she wouldn’t have to worry about grading homework and tests, or chasing students around and making sure they had all their assignments turned in because they were too irresponsible to do that themselves. Ms. Dora was going on a one week vacation to Hawaii on her own; feeling just like a teenager again with all the adrenaline rushing through her body when the thought went through her mind.
As you all know, and for those of you who don’t Ms. Dora has twin boys; Costas and Andreas. She sent them off to camp somewhere in Switzerland that afternoon so now she wouldn’t have to worry about them getting lost or drowning while she was tanning or drinking her pina colada. As for her husband, unfortunately he had to work but they would all get together again soon and then they would have the chance to take a short vacation together before they had to go back to their daily routines.
Everything seemed in place as she put the last of her luggage in the car and took a quick shower just before she drove to the airport. Lucky for her she liked planes because the flight was going to be very long and she’d have to make three stops but that didn’t spoil her mood.
Finally she was boarding her flight and before she knew it she was there. She looked outside her window and saw the beautiful clear beaches of Hawaii waiting to greet her as she got out of the airplane. A taxi was waiting for her and she saw the tall, tanned young man waiting for her; in his hands he held a sign with her name written on it.
The hotel wasn’t far away from the airport. She stood speechless and stared at the beautiful place which would be her home for the next week. Suddenly she wished she would arrange to stay longer than just a week but anyway it was too late for that now, she would enjoy it while it lasted. The taxi driver took her luggage to the grand suit that was waiting for her and she followed him. The room was the most incredible thing she had ever seen. She felt a little jealous she didn’t have one just like it back at home.
As soon as she got settled she went out and lay by the pool to get that tan she was looking forward to while reading one of her favorite books. Later she was going to get a full spa treatment and after that she would go out to dinner. That was her daily routine for the next three days. Then for another two days she went diving and went on an educational tour around the caves of the area to see wildlife and learn how to be cautious about the different dangers.
Everything seemed like heaven though her vacation was soon about to finish. She didn’t want to return back to Cyprus just yet but there was nothing she could do. On her last day she went shopping and enjoyed the last of the breathtaking views and took pictures of almost everything. She couldn’t wait to tell her family and friends about what she had seen and experienced. This was one of the best vacations she ever went on in her life and she was sure she would return next year too. Maybe she would bring her family with her but she was for sure coming back!!

music

I can’t live without music!! I love listening to all kinds of music but I especially like hip-hop and R&B. Music expresses the way people feel and think in all ways. Personally, music helps me better in life in things like studying or doing my hair. =] I like to think of music as my best friend because it’s always there when I need it.
One of my favorite singers is Colby O’ Donis. He’s an American Pop, R&B and Hip-Hop singer-songwriter. He was born in New York and is of Puerto Rican descent. He won his first talent show when he was three years old by singing a Michael Jackson song. When he was 9 his parents moved to Florida where he began collaborating with producer/songwriters. By the time he was 10 he became known as the youngest recording artist ever signed to Motown Records to do a song for the movie “Stuart Little” soundtrack in 1999. Then he began taking guitar lessons and at 11 he was appearing regularly as an actor on the TV series Grandpa’s Garage. By age 14 his passion for music had him opening shows for major recording artists.
From the two songs he has playing on the radio my favorite is “What You Got”. The music is awesome and I think featuring Akon was a great idea. This song is popular all around the world especially in the US.

Me Myself & I

I think of myself as a very unique person. Hehe. Just kidding. People usually tell me that I’m a good listener and always willing to be helpful. Now I don’t know if that’s entirely true but its something good to hear, I guess. I think I live on planet wannabe because that’s what everyone does mostly around here; copy each other. Anyway, I’m into sports and I love to hang around with friends. One of my biggest goals is to go sky diving, sometime in my life, with my brother and best friend.
